From 4th November until 23rd December 2017 the new solo exhibition by renowned German artist Peter Feiler can be seen at Hoorn & Reniers. The opening of the exhibition will be performed by Saskia van Kampen-Prein, curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, on Saturday 4th November at 16.00 hours.
Peter Feiler’s grotesque drawings and paintings cover the precarious subject of “what men can do to each other“ with a childishly innocent patina standing in harsh contrast to repelling and nevertheless fascinating details.
The exhibition ‘Früchte der Dekadenz’ will show new drawings and paintings by Peter Feiler (Halle an der Saale, Germany, 1981) who graduated in 2007 from the ‘Universität der Künste’ in Berlin where he was taught by professor Wolfgang Petrick and Daniel Richter. Amongst his paragones he counts Bruegel the elder, Jheronimus Bosch, Albrecht Dürer and Otto Dix. His works make part of collections like those of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen (Rotterdam), the Sammlung Olbricht (Berlin) and the Museum of New and Old Art (Hobart, Australia).
